Psalm 74: Remember the oppressed

You cleave fountain and brook and dry up ever-flowing rivers.
Day is Yours and Night is Yours as well… You established light and the sun,
You carved out the borders of the earth… You created summer and winter.

Don't give up the soul of the turtle-dove to the wild beast,
don't forget the life of Your poor.

Remember Your covenant…
for the shadow-places of earth are filled with habitations of violence.
Don't let the oppressed struggle in confusion, for the destitute and needy call to You.
Look at what the enemy has done… come now, and shine forth.

Psalm 80: Shine and save us

Shepherd of Israel, give ear…
You Who lead Joseph like a flock…Shine forth.
Stir up Your power, that we may be saved.
