Psalm 139-Where shall I flee from You?

You have searched me and know my sitting and my rising…
my thoughts from afar….my lying down and goings,
You’re acquainted with all my ways.
There is not a word on my tongue, but You fathom it utterly.

Where shall I go from Your spirit? Where shall I flee from Your Presence?
If I ascend skyward, You are there.
If I make my bed in Sheol, behold there too are You.
If I lift up the wings of the sunrise and dwell in the deepest seas,
even there would Your hand lead me, Your right hand grasp me.

If I say, "Surely the shadows will envelop me, and the light about me shall be night,"
even the darkness is not too dark for You, for the night shall shine as the day.

For You have made my reins, You've knit me together in my mother's womb.
I give thanks to You for I am awe-fully made.

Wonderful are Your works… this my soul knows.
My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret,
when I was fashioned in the innermost parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unshaped form, and all was written in Your book.
Days were fashioned when there was not yet one of them.

How dear are Your thoughts to me, how vast the sum of them.
Greater than the grains of sand are they.
And were I to come to the end of them… I would still be with You.

Search me and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts...
and lead me I pray, in the way everlasting.
